Half Life Review for PC and PlayStation 2

in Game

Half Life has been voted as one of the best games to play on the PlayStation 2 and on the PC. It has received countless awards from many video game magazine publishers and news outlets. When I purchased this game for the PC, I was simply amazed at how well crafted and written the story and the graphics were made. Yes, the game is amazing in every way, when it comes to the graphics; they are some of the best you can find on the PlayStation 2 system and on the personal computer.

This game series was written and crafted by a real author, which makes the story much more structured and interesting. Artificial intelligence or the intelligence of the computer controlled characters is so advanced in the game that characters will actually interact with you and appropriately react according to what action one might take. When the PlayStation 2 was just released into the market it had a much more powerful computer than the PC, so the characters are much more intelligent in the system version compared to the PC version.

If you have played both versions you would notice the big difference between the interactions, which are dozens of times better. For example in the PC version in you obstruct a door with a box the enemies will not push it out of the way, the soldiers would just stand there and shoot at the door, but in the PlayStation 2 version they would actually bust the door to take you down. In addition the game the graphics have been drastically improved, characters have been equipped with human like movements and facial expressions.

In the PlayStation 2 version they have added an additional mode where you can pair up with a team mate in a co-op campaign called "Decay".

“Decays” is a different story in of its self. Decay palaces you as two women hazard course trainers who are involved in a horrible accident, involving a severe radiation spill (similar to the campaign story mode). You and your team mate will have to work together to solve various puzzles throughout the game.

If you want to try the multi player campaign with a human partner, the game gives you the option to team up with a bot. There is a secondary multi player mode called death match where you can battle a friend. If you are looking to buy a new "old" game then this game will cure your boredom for a couple of weeks.

As time progresses these kinds of games have lower and lower prices but the entertainment stays the same, you can also get this game on steam for under $10, don’t wait try it out! If you are a fan of this series you can also get Half-Life 2 and many other add-ons.
